Serenity
It is the state of being calm and peaceful. Serenity also means calmness of mind; evenness of temper; an undisturbed state of mind. Another name for serenity is tranquility.
It is very important that children of God develop serene mind and personality. Hence, God enjoins us as follows, “In returning and rest shall you be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength.” Isaiah 30:15
In quietness and solitude, you begin to open the door to the “Golden City on the Mountain Top”. That is the kingdom of heaven which is within. Yourself is the “gate” to this kingdom. In quietness and solitude, you begin to perceive that you can hear ‘soundless sound,’ hear with your spiritual ear, see with your spiritual eye, and perceive with your spiritual nose. You begin to know things without any person teaching you. You may now understand why scientific discoveries, inventions, innovation and development are usually made in a quite place called laboratory.
In quietness and solitude, you get into the inspiration mode, wherein you receive inspirations from the Universal God-Mind. Solitude is a means of spiritual enlightenment.
         Benefits of solitude include:
  1. Peace of mind.
  2. Longevity.
  3. Freedom from stress and strain.
  4. Distraction by other people is avoided.
  5. The result is better concentration and higher productivity.
  6. Creativity becomes sparked off and enhanced.
  7. Many of the world great men became great achievers after they lost loved ones or very precious possession. Then, they turned to quietness and solitude.
  8. Self development is possible and encouraged by quietness and solitude. Just as the sun shines in all direction to distant places, so does God steadily communicate with His children. But it is only those who are used to quietness and solitude that benefit from the divine communication.
  9. Solitude ensures growth in spiritual maturity. Solitude does not necessarily mean loneliness, because nobody is ever alone, spiritually.
  10. Quietness and solitude leads to bliss - a spiritual experience of the heavenly life.
