Jesus Heals The Demoniac

The morning came, the Christians landed in the country of the Geracenes. They went to Gadara, chief city of the Peracans, and here for certain days they tarried and they taught. Now, legends hold that Gadara is sacred to the dead, and all the hills about are known as holy ground. These are the burial grounds of all the regions round about. The hills are full of tombs. And many dead from Galilee are here entombed.

Now, spirits of the lately dead that cannot rise to higher planes, remain about the tombs that hold the flesh and bones of what was once their mortal homes. They sometimes take possession of the living, whom they torture in a hundred ways. And all through Gadara were men possessed, and there was no one strong enough to bring relief, that they might meet these hidden foes and learn the way to dispossess the evil ones. The master took the foreign ministers and the twelve into the tombs.

And as they neared the gates, they met a man possessed. A legion of the unclean ones were in this man, and they had made him strong. And none could bind him down, no, not with chains. For he could break the stoutest chains, and go his way.
Now, unclean spirits cannot live in light. They revel in the dark. When Jesus came, he brought the light of life, and all the evil spirits were disturbed.

The leader of the legion in the man called out, “You Jesus, you Immanuel, we beg that you will not consign us to the depths. Torment us not before our time.”
And Jesus said, “What is your number and your name?”
The evil spirit said, “Our name is legion, and our number is the number of the beast.”
And Jesus spoke, and with a voice that shook the very hills. He said, “Come forth. possess this man no more.”

Now, all the hills were filled with unclean animals that fed, and carried forth and spread the plague among the people of the land. And when the evil spirits begged that they might not be driven forth without a home, the Master said, “Go forth and take possession of the unclean quadrupeds (animals).”
And they, and all the evil spirits of the tombs went forth and took possession of the breeders of the plague, which, wild with rage, ran down the steeps into the sea, and all were drowned. And all the land was freed of the contagion (evil pollutions), and the unclean spirits came no more.

But when the people saw the mighty works that Jesus did, they were alarmed. They said, “If he can free the country of the plague, and drive the unclean spirits out, “He is a man of such transcendent (superior and umarched) power that He can devastate our land at will.”
And then they came and prayed that He would not remain in Gadara. And Jesus did not tarry longer there, and with the other ministers and the twelve, He went aboard the boats to go away.

The man who had been rescued from the unclean legion stood upon the shore and said, “Lord, let me go with you.”
But Jesus said, “It is not well. Go forth unto your home and tell the news that humanity may know what man can do when he is tuned with God.”And then the man went forth through all Decapolis and told the news. The Christians sailed away, re-crossed the sea and came again into Capernaum.

They came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Ger′asenes. And when he had come out of the boat, there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, who lived among the tombs; and no one could bind him anymore, even with a chain; for he had often been bound with fetters and chains, but the chains he wrenched apart, and the fetters he broke in pieces; and no one had the strength to subdue him. Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains, he was always crying out, and bruising himself with stones.

And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped him; and crying out with a loud voice, he said, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.” For he had said to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” And Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He replied, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” And he begged Him eagerly not to send them out of the country.

Now a great herd of swine was feeding there on the hillside; and they begged Him, “Send us to the swine, let us enter them.” So He gave them leave, permission. And the unclean spirits came out, and entered the swine; and the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and were drowned in the sea.

The herdsmen fled, and told it in the city and in the country. And people came to see what it was that had happened. And they came to Jesus, and saw the demoniac sitting there, clothed and in his right mind, the man who had had the legion; and they were afraid. And those who had seen it told what had happened to the demoniac and to the swine. And they began to beg Jesus to depart from their neighborhood. And as He was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed with demons begged Him that he might be with Him. But He refused, and said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” And he went away and began to proclaim in the Decap′olis how much Jesus had done for him; and all men marveled. Mark :-

Explanations

It is good and possible to perform deliverance and spiritual works using animals.

However, such exercises shall be at the dictate of the Holy Spirit.

The problem in the world now is that many people who claim to be ministers of God are performing all kinds of deliverance exercises and spiritual works, using whatever means or power they deem necessary without inquiring from God and without following the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The worst is that most of them are not using the powers of the Holy Spirit.

The Ground Was Not A Holy Place

Now, legends hold that Gadara is sacred to the dead, and all the hills about are known as holy ground.

The burial ground is not a holy place. Legends simply means stories, folktales, which are often impressive and amusing, but are lies and fabrications seasoned with sensations.

They call it a holy place because that is where they come to consult with the dead. If a person’s father died suddenly, the person can come here and consult his dead father. And the father will tell him several things, which he would have told them before dying.

If somebody was murdered, the relations come to this burial ground, to raise up the spirit of the murdered person. And the dead person will tell without killed him, where he was killed and all the necessary details of circumstances of his death. The pagans still do all these things nowadays.

The Man Was Not Called To Be A Minister

But he refused, and said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” Mark :

The man was not chosen, not called and not anointed to do the work of God.

Meaning Of Legion

Apostle Matthew: Son of man, which spirit is called legion?

The Head: It is true that the man was one person, but the spirits possessing him are many.

Apostle Matthew: Son of man, this man they are writing about, the bible authors did not say how the evil spirits in him were causing troubles and destruction.

Son of man, that spirits are many o o. And it has being a long time, since they were possessing and using this man to do evil works. It was not only what they saw on that day of healing…

Why The Man Was Chained And Removed

Apostle Matthew: What were the evil spirits doing in the man?

Son of man, it is written somewhere that he does not allow people to pass through the road, which means that he was causing troubles and crisis. He was a troublemaker, who causes harm to people. Son of man, the spirits are blood-sucking spirits.

The Head: That is why the man harms people, for people to bleed blood.

Apostle Matthew: Yes. That place where the man meet Jesus, that was not the place where he was staying before. He used to stay at the gate of the temple. If a person was passing by, he would attack the person. If he defeated the person, he would tear the person into pieces. That was where the evil spirits started to use the man. He was attacking, tormenting, the children of God coming to the temple. That was before they bound him with chains and removed him from the gate of the temple, because he was not supposed to be saying there. They removed him to the place where Jesus met him.

What The Evil Spirits Wanted

Before Jesus came to the place, the evil spirits have already seen Jesus, and they knew that that was the day themselves shall leave the man and the place. They did not know what to say. . , because whomever that Jesus wants to save, He will save the person, whether the evil spirits agree or not. The evil spirits wanted to take the man away, but the Angels refused. They told the Angels that they wanted another person to possess. The Angels answered that they do not have the right, that it is only Jesus that shall say what shall be done. If Jesus casts them out, he has cast them out, unless Jesus was merciful to them. But the evil spirits pleaded, and pleaded, and pleaded with the Angels, but the Angels ignored them. All these happened before Jesus came to the place. The mercy Jesus had for them was for them to move it into the swine.

Apostle Matthew: When they entered the swine, what did they do?

The Head: They made the swine to run into the water, as written in the bible.

Why The Evils Spirits Ran Into The Water

Apostle Matthew: Why did they do such a thing?

The Head: Perhaps, they came from the water, as marine spirits. Or, that is the environment that they can stay in.

Apostle Matthew: Son of man, yourself answered very well, because those spirits and marine spirits are one and the same. If you go into hell fire, it is not only demons that enter the hell fire. There are regions and regions and regions. Many regions. Some marine spirits are among the demons inside the hell fire. They work here and there, here and there, and here and there.

Why Jesus Used The Swine

Apostle Matthew: Son of man, but why did Jesus allow them to enter the swine?

The Head: Number , it is because the swine are defiled animals, unholy.

Number , people should not be rearing swine in human environments. Rearing swine in human environments makes humanity to be falling down in spirit. The city in which swine are being reared, the swine shall make the people there and those rearing the swine to be falling in spirit, unsuccessful, unprogressive and non-prosperous, both spiritually and physically.

Apostle Matthew: Number , pig is defiled thing.

Number , Jesus used the swine to cast out the evil spirits, because they begged Jesus to allow them go into another things that is alive.

But, son of man, animal and a human being, which one is more important?

The Head: It is human being that is far more important. But, if a human being starts to disobey God, the animal that obeys God becomes more important than the human being.

Apostle Matthew: Son of man, yourself answered correctly. Pigs are defiled. That was why Jesus used the swine to cast out the evil spirits. The spirits are unclean spirits.

Beware Of Swine

Swine are unclean animals. The evidence is how the swine rush into and swim in the dirty places, and eat from the rotten refuse dumps. Jesus sent the demons into the swine, because both demons and the swine are unclean, defiled and unholy.

The incidents shows humanity that swine must not be allowed in the midst of human society, and people must not eat the meat. Many people today are eating swine, simply because they are spiritually blind, ignorant and lazy. Be warned.

Touching the swine, eating the meat or associating with the swine causes spiritual down fall and renders one’s every day efforts meaningless and useless, fruitless.
