Heals A Deaf And Dumb Boy
Jesus Cures A Blind Man At Bethsaida
And they came to Beth-sa′ida.
And some people brought to Him a blind man, and begged Him to touch the man. And
Jesus took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the village; and when
He had spit on his eyes and laid His hands upon him, Jesus asked him, “Do you
see anything?” And the man looked up and said, “I see men; but they look like
trees, walking.” Then again He laid His hands upon the man’s eyes; and the man
looked intently and his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. And
Jesus sent him away to his home, saying, and “Do not even enter the village.”
Mark 8:22-26
The Man Saw Angels
Jesus asked him, “Do
you see anything?” And the man looked up and said, “I see men; but they look
like trees, walking.” Mark 8:23,24
Apostle Matthew: The man saw trees, what does that mean?
The Head: Physically, a person who sees for the first time, may not see clearly. He is like a person who comes out of the house when the sunshine is very intense. For a while, it seems the person is not himself. He feels dizzy and has blurred vision – hazy, not clear. After a while, the eye resets itself, and the person can see clearly.
Apostle Matthew: Son of man, what yourself has explained are true. But what actually happened was that this man was seeing Angels.
The Head: Just as the Israelites were seeing Archangel Raphael in the form of pillar of fire and pillar of cloud.
Apostle Matthew: Immediately before he started to see, he received the power of the Holy Spirit. It was with the power that he was able to see the Angels, and by the same power he started to follow Jesus.
Explanations:
1.
Jesus was not making a public show of His works of
healing, deliverance or evangelism. However, He solved every problem wherever
He met the problem, whether in public or not.
2.
He was unlike the modern day ministers of God, who are
announcing their works every day and on the radio and televisions. Ministers of
God are today fond of boasting, without giving glory to God. They are ready and
quick to tell you all the various glorious and mighty works which they have
performed in the past or are doing now. That is pride and pomposity.
3.
One session of deliverance may not be enough to
deliver a person from his bondage and problems. At times, several deliverances
are necessary.
4.
The first thing the man saw were Angels of God who
were working with Jesus. The man made the same mistake the Israelites made in
the wilderness by seeing and calling Archangel Raphael a pillar of fire and
pillar of cloud. The reason was that the spiritual eyes of this man and that of
the Israelites were not fully developed. They had not yet grown in spirit.
Therefore, their levels of spiritual vibration was very low. That was why
Angels appear diffuse, unclear like clouds, to their eyes.
The Healing Of A Deaf And Dumb Boy
And when they came to the disciples, they saw
a great crowd about them, and scribes arguing with them. And immediately all
the crowd, when they saw him, were greatly amazed, and ran up to him and
greeted him. And he asked them, “What are you discussing with them?” And one of
the crowd answered him, “Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has a dumb
spirit; and wherever it seizes him, it dashes him down; and he foams and grinds
his teeth and becomes rigid; and I asked your disciples to cast it out, and
they were not able.” And he answered them, “O faithless generation, how long am
I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him to me.”
And they brought the
boy to him; and when the spirit saw him, immediately it convulsed the boy, and
he fell on the ground and rolled about, foaming at the mouth. And Jesus asked
his father, “How long has he had this?” And he said, “From childhood. And it
has often cast him into the fire and into the water, to destroy him; but if you
can do anything, have pity on us and help us.” And Jesus said to him, “If you
can! All things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the father of
the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”
And when Jesus saw
that a crowd came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it,
“You dumb and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him
again.” And after crying out and convulsing him terribly, it came out, and the
boy was like a corpse; so that most of them said, “He is dead.” But Jesus took
him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose. And when he had entered the
house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?” And
he said to them, “This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer.” Mark
9:14-29
The Healing of Blind
Bartimaeus
And they came to Jericho; and as he was
leaving Jericho with his disciples and a great multitude, Bartimae′us,
a blind beggar, the son of Timae′us, was
sitting by the roadside. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he
began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” And many
rebuked him, telling him to be silent; but he cried out all the more, “Son of
David, have mercy on me!” And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” And they
called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart; rise, he is calling you.” And
throwing off his mantle he sprang up and came to Jesus. And Jesus said to him,
“What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Master,
let me receive my sight.” And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has
made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed him on the
way. Mark 10:46-52
The Blind Man
Bartimaeus
This Bartimaeus was first Cain. Then, himself
was Reuben. Later he reincarnated as Samson, one of whose eyes was gorged out
by the philistines. That is why he can back to life, born, reincarnated, as a
blind person. On that day he met Jesus, he received his sight and mark of
salvation.
